Dr.Supitr is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Sports Science, Kasetsart University in Bangkok.  She received her B.Ed. and M.Ed. in Physical Education (Elementary Education) from Chulalongkorn University and her Ph.D. in Measurement and Research Methodology as well as her interested area in Sports and Exercise Psychology from Oregon State University in 1984.  She was the founder and former Chairman of the Department of Sports Science since 1992 and to be the Dean of Faculty of Sports Science in 2005.  For the administration side, she served as the Chairman of the Department of Physical Education during 1989 – 1991, Dean of the Faculty of Education during 1992 – 2000 and Vice President for Development at her University during 2001 – 2004.

 

In 2001, she was elected to be the Executive Member of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand, her job assignment was the Chairman of Women and Sport Commission as well as the Director of Thailand Olympic Academy.  In 2003, she was nominated to be the OCA Women and Sport Commission and still be very active at this moment.  When Thailand hosted the 25th World Universiade Games in Bangkok in 2007, she was assigned by the Organizing Committee to be the Chairman of the 2007 FISU Universiade Scientific Congress, as well as the Chairman of the 25th SEA Games Scientific Congress in Bangkok at the same year.  In April 2008, FISU has announced her name in the FISU General Assembly in Brussel that she was elected to be the CESU/FISU during 2008 – 2011.

 

Dr.Supitr’s research area include but are not limited to, a construction of health related physical fitness tests and norms for pre-school children (4-6 years), children of age 7-18, and for Aging people.  As the Director of Thailand Olympic Academy, she contributed the concepts of “Olympic Movement” to the people around the country, also she conducted the Women and Sport Seminar and Workshop for the NOC of Cambodia, NOC of Laos, and the NOC of Vietnam.

 

Currently, Dr.Supitr served as the Council Member of the National Institute of Physical Education, the Senate’s Academic Member; Standing Committee on Sport, President, Sport Psychology Society of Thailand (SPST), President, Women and Sport Association of Thailand (WSAT), President, Sport Management Association of Thailand (SMAT), Vice President of Asian Association of Sport Management (AASM), Vice President of Asian Council of Exercise and Sports Science (ACESS) and Executive Member of Asia South Pacific Association of Sport Psychology (ASPASP).  Dr.Supitr has received the award as an Education Contributor to the Society from the Ministry of Education in 2001, in 2002 she received the “Women and Sport Achievement Award” from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), being awarded as 1997, 2007 Outstanding Alumni Class 1969 by the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University as well as being awarded as the “National Excellent Academic Contributor to the Society” by the Ministry of Tourism and Sport in 2008.  At the same year, she received award as the “Graduate Education and the Public Good” by the United States Council of Graduate School, U.S.A.
